Alternative Force has been designed to bring light contingency techniques necessary to survive the life or death engagement in close quarters, stressing the fact that there are no time outs or considerations for flight at such close distances. There are situations that require alternative force to a guns deadly force; a weapon malfunction, justification for the use of deadly force may not be so clear (Stockholm syndrome) or actually change during an encounter. Sometimes with everything done right the anticipated result of threat neutralization does not occur (body armor, chemical enhancement or an extremely determined individual).
